Pride Leadership Recruitment Reception

Posted by on Jan 17, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

Please join me for the 2012 Pride Leadership Cycle 5 Recruitment Reception. As a previous graduate, I highly recommend any interested parties to attend this informal Recruitment Reception on January 19th. Pride Leadership, a program of the United Way of Central Ohio, is one of central Ohio’s premier leadership development programs for people in the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities. Its eight-month training program is designed to prepare leaders who are dedicated to paying forward to our community to serve on the volunteer boards and committees of nonprofit...

Social Media in 2012: Collaborative Businesses

Posted by on Jan 15, 2012 in Blog | 1 comment

Over the last three years social media has empirically changed the way businesses operate. It’s not just the widespread us of  web based social platforms like facebook and twitter; some of my clients have harnessed their own internal social networks, micro-blogging, wikis, and other platforms for employees to collaborate internally. Pride Leadership Graduation

I’m proud to say that I’ve completed the Pride Leadership program with the United Way of Central Ohio. The first of its kind, the program is designed to develop leadership skills to increase volunteer and board service opportunities for people in the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual & Transgender) community. At graduation I received the honor of delivering our commencement speech prior to the delivery of our certificates. Here is my speech and some photos from the event: ——- Fellow Graduates, Over 100 years ago, when Queen Victoria pressed Lord Salisbury to change...

The Domino Project, End Malaria

The Domino Project is the brainchild of Seth Godin and is powered by Amazon. Together, they’re reinventing what it means to be publisher and spreading ideas to people who can use them. The Domino Project is named after the domino effect—one powerful idea spreads down the line, pushing from person to person. I was very fortunate to take part in The Domino Project with my participation as a BzzAgent. With the BzzAgent campaign I received a new book each month 3 weeks before it was officially released. The current and last title from The Domino Project is End Malaria. End Malaria brings...
