I’m proud to say that I’ve completed the Pride Leadership program with the United Way of Central Ohio. The first of its kind, the program is designed to develop leadership skills to increase volunteer and board service opportunities for people in the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual & Transgender) community. Recently I wrote about my acceptance and participation in Pride Leadership. For the last two days I have been at the Deer Creek Resort and Conference Center, about 45 minutes outside of Columbus, for the program’s opening retreat. As part of the program, the participants will complete a community service project and attend workshop sessions where we’ll learn about things like board governance, parliamentary procedures and fiscal management.
