MY CONSULTING PRACTICE

For over a decade I’ve worked with both marketing agencies and independently with clients to develop marketing campaigns that focus on consumer engagement. As a consultant I work with just 5-7 clients at any given time and 95% of all new clients are referrals from existing or past clients. For that reason I don’t have a separate stand alone website for my consulting practice, nor do I openly market my consulting practice beyond this page. That said, even though I am busy with existing clients, I’m always available to connect and share my portfolio of successful past projects and explore opportunities to help your business.

MY MARKETING PHILOSOPHY
A commitment to creating demand for my clients’ products/services by driving consumer engagement is at the core of my success. My marketing and communications strategy is rooted in encouraging and inviting consumers to participate in his client’s brand. Rather than looking at consumers as passive receivers of messages, I believes that consumers should be actively involved in marketing programs.

MY APPROACH

Although each business I work with is different and my approach can vary greatly, here are the general steps I take with each project: First, we connect so that I can learn about your business. Once I fully understand your business I help you build a strategy that aligns with business objectives. Second, I work with you to execute the approved strategy, whether it’s marketing campaigns, managing social media channels, re-branding, etc. Third, I measure the results of the work we’ve done and report back to your on our success and how we’ve met various key performance indicators. MY EXPERIENCE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA

Long before the trendy craze that is now social media, I was helping clients market themselves online with blogger outreach programs as early as 2002 and then later on a little site called MySpace. That was 2004, three years before the advent of Twitter. I’ve been an advocate of social media marketing since the beginning because consumers have flocked to the social web to interact with digital sites that engage them. A core philosophy behind my success is to engage consumers in their own element, or more simply said, where consumers spend their time is where they should be marketed to, in this case on web based social sites. To that degree, social media is a hot topic because it works – people want to shop where they already spend most of their time. Social media is also a paradigm shift from previous marketing strategies which is why both marketing agencies and businesses have struggled with implementing successful practices. I help clients use social media to their advantage, interacting with potential consumers to create demand and engaging their current customers to create brand evangelists. In my approach, social media marketing isn’t about the different platforms, it’s about developing ideas—ideas that spread. As we have seen in the last three years, platforms tend to change very quickly, it’s the ability to quickly create concrete strategies in the digital world that have become a cornerstone to my success.
